Guild Recruiting Service? Good idea, or not?
I was thinking, well hey, im a really good recruiter, and I know that most officers and leaders hate it, because they dont like to spam, and they arent really sure how else to go about it. Sometimes they hate it for a totally different reason.
So I figured Id ask all the leaders and officers here- If I offered a service to recruit for guilds without actually having to be made an officer (I would recruit in-game only when an officer was online), do you think I would be successful with it? If so, how would I go about advertising it, since it really isnt the most common type of service. Now, I was thinking I should price it by members that join (since, as we all know, roughly half seem to think its funny to leave about one minute after joining). Maybe 5k for every 10 members I get to join +costs. So, 6k for 10 members, 12k for 20, 18k for 30. After that Id up the price because of sheer time involved, to something like 35k for 40 members, 40k for 50. After that, Id negotiate something individually, unless someone wants to pay me to fill up their roster, which would be 100k or something like that... 10k for costs, 90k for the week or so itd take me of constant recruiting. By the by, itd be the leader only that could buy my service, and the costs for recruiting id split up between the officers online who recruited. If I did do this service, I dont think itd be a very successful thing, but then again, thats why I posted here. What do you think about the merits this would have, the negatives, and of course, its potential commercial success rate. |

Great idea to take money from guild leaders/officers.
We all know that the way to recruit is to actually know the people you recruit and play with them, not do some mass recruiting because then there's no loyalty at all... |

I didnt say how I recruited, now did I? What I normally do is make anyone interested talk to me awhile, so I get a feel for their personality. Second, I dont spam. Recruiting is something Im good at, because I can generally get to know people well in a short time span. Third, even playing with someone doesnt give them loyalty to you. They have to be in the guild first, and come to love it. Attachment to whoever invited them can actually hurt, since they will stay whether or not they actually are loyal to the guild itself. Many guilds have been destroyed because of this. And, I take offense at the idea that I would be "taking" money from them. Yes, if they employ me, I will accept it. Yes, I will ask for it. No, I will not do it without it. However, they can recruit themselves. I will not, do not, and never will go up to someone and mug them, or attempt to steal from them. Do me a favor and try to use a little tact, if that wasnt what you meant. And, if it was, please, refrain from comments upon my personal character unless you know me. You haven't even done the small amount any good recruiter does before passing judgement.
Oh, and, please post on topic. I didnt ask for judgement on my technique- merely the idea. Namely, if you had your choice of techniques, would you buy this service, or think others would. Last edited by Kendar Muert; Aug 10, 2007 at 10:36 PM // 22:36.. |

Sounds cool if that particular guild would want a bunch of people they didn't recruit themselves. The downside is once people caught onto the idea of a GL hiring someone to fill the roster with people then it looks of disloyalty.
It would lessen the recruiting effect less than what it already is.Also though I say if you can find someone to pay you for this then by all means I wish you luck. |

I wouldn't see it as something very profitable. If you're recruiting you're doing it because you want to, I don't think it's the job of the member to be doing it nor should people be paying you.
A lot of the people I convice had been pugging with me and another member. We we taling and stuff then they get highly interested. What I don't like is wne new members only get to know specific people, and reply only to them in chat. Our guild runs a radio station and a lot of entries come though the site, though we try to keep them as seperate entities. No disrespect to your idea, I just wonder if it's worth the time to be feasible. |

It would probably be awesome for guilds that aspire to own cavalon, or some such nonsense. They pay members for faction, so why not pay people for members.. lol.
